SBA Hosting National Small Business Week


This year’s National Small Business week is being held in Washington, D.C. at the Mandaran Orange Hotel & Conference Center during May 20 through May 26th. The event honors small businesses through a series of events in order to recognize the importance and impact of each and every small business in the United States. National Small Business week is also touted as a networking and educational event.

The conference features speakers from the Small Business Administration (SBA), which is the entity hosting the event. Other speakers will be from great companies as well as motivational stories from small business owners.

Awards will be given to recognize outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs, with particular emphasis on the contributions they are making in terms of creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and inspiring inspiration.
Awards such as the National Small Business Person of the Year, The Lender of the Year, The Small Business Prime Contractor Award, and The Small Business Sub Contractor Award, SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and Home-Based Business Champion of the Year, just to name a few.

Individuals will also be honored for their part in disaster recovery, small business support, and government contracting.

Scheduled events also include an optional night (moonlight) tour of the Washington monument, group discussions, and business matchmaking. A special Federal contract educational session will also be available for attendees
This years National Small Business Week marks the 49th time for the event and the 59th anniversary of the Small Business Administration.

The Small Business Administration is a U.S. government agency that provides resources and support to entrepreneurs and small businesses in an effort to strengthen the nation’s economy.
